Varanasi, UP: Brahma Kumaris representatives were invited by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India, at the final Y20 summit, from 17- 20 Aug 2023, in Varanasi.
Brahma Kumaris, through Youth Wing of RERF, had organised about 544 Y20 programs across the country, from Jan- Aug 2023, with more than 83,000 youth benefitted.
BK Chandrika didi, Vice-Chairperson of Youth Wing, BK Kruti, National Coordinator of Youth Wing, BK Vidhatri, Coordinator for Y20 series with Govt of India, and BK Varun were invited by the government. BK Surender didi, Incharge of Varanasi and West Nepal also joined the inauguration with BK Taposhi, BK Bipin and other dedicated brothers and sisters from Varanasi.
Meditation session conducted on 19 Aug 2023 by BK Sister Vidhatri of Om Shanti Retreat Centre who was actively Coordinating Y20 activities with the government, was attended and appreciated by the participants of the Y20 summit, following which, few officers also visited the Brahma Kumaris centre at Sarnath, Varanasi.
Delegates from the 20 G20 countries and other guest countries were present to discuss the policy for youth of those countries. We as Brahma Kumaris had also sent our recommendations for the policy through the programs conducted by the Youth Wing.
In the inauguration of the final Y20 summit in Varanasi, Shri Yogi Adityanath, CM of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Anurag Thakur, Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports and Information & Broadcasting, Shri Anmol Sovit, Y20 Chairperson, other Cabinet Ministers of Uttar Pradesh and Smt. Meeta Rajivlochan, Secretary, Dept of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India were present. During the 3 day event, BK representatives interacted with various officers from the Youth Ministry organizing the summit, local MLAs, MPs, Administrative officers and foreign delegates who had been appointed by their countries, to participate in the summit.
