Gangtok : Raksha Bandhan Celebration at the Chief Minister’s Office

Gangtok Sikkim: On the joyous occasion of Raksha Bandhan, a special programme was initiated by Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang for the staff and officials of the Chief Minister’s Office here at Samman Bhawan in collaboration with the Brahma Kumaris RajYoga Centre, Sikkim.

The programme witnessed a beautiful and spiritually enriching Rakhi-tying ceremony. The sisters from Brahma Kumaris tied Rakhis on the wrists of all staff and officials present, symbolizing the bond of protection and love.

The programme commenced with an insightful address by Brahmakumari Sikkim In-charge, Respected  Sonam Didi who emphasized the significance of Raksha Bandhan, not just as a festival of siblings but as a celebration of the larger human family, where we all share our responsibility to protect and care for one another.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister advocated the value of peace and unity stressing it as our primary aspiration.
“We need to recognize the importance of peace. Currently, attaining peace of mind is our primary aspiration. Throughout our lives, we should advocate for peace, serve humanity, and diligently pursue our goals”, said the Chief Minister.

He further urged us to release our negative beliefs,contemplate our existence, and collaborate harmoniously for the betterment of Sikkim and its people. Furthermore, the Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to Brahma kumaris for organizing this special event. Madam Smt. Krishna Kri Rai, spouse of the Chief Minister, also actively participated in the Rakhi-tying ceremony.

Also present were RMDD Minister Ven Sonam Lama, Power Minister Shri MN Sherpa, PHE Minister Shri Bhim Hang Limboo, Secretaries to HCM Shri SD Dhakal and Smt T.Keyzom Bhutia, members of  Brahmakumaris, dignitaries alongside the staff and officials of the Chief Minister’s Office.
