Diwali – The Festival of Light at Anubhuti Meditation & Retreat Center, Novato, California
Novato CA, USA: Hundreds of people in golden crowns silently walking – holding light in hands – lit up the ambience of Anubhuti Meditation and Retreat Center. On the occasion of Diwali, the festival of light, participants not only witnessed the decorated lights, but also experienced the beauty of carrying inner light.
Highlights were the coronation of Ram Sita, two main characters in the Hindu epic Ramayana, who are symbols of goodness and light in the face of evil. A fairy angel decorated with a glowing light gown magnified the divinity of the spiritual gathering. The light parade to the exquisitely decorated and sparkling plaza was led by Ram and Sita, followed by all carrying their lights and wearing crowns. All were uplifted in the atmosphere of inner light and joy and the multitude of shining lights.
Participants enjoyed meditation, spiritual talk, music and dance. The mayor of Novato, city council member, renowned cyclist adventurer, and local leaders of several cultures and faiths, graced the event with their presence. The guests addressed the gathering and shared their good wishes on the occasion of Diwali. They appreciated the activities of Anubhuti Center and how it is helping people better their lives.
Anubhuti Center’s coordinators Sister Elizabeth, Sister Hema, and program coordinator Sister Vaishali shared the importance of the festival and invited all to explore their spiritual journey.
