Bhubaneswar,Odissa: World No Tobacco Day was observed today in Bhubaneswar, with a special awareness event organized by Organiser Unit-9, Bhubaneswar. The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 200 individuals, including students, health professionals, and members of the community.
The event was graced by Dr. P.K Sahoo, Director of Sunshine Hospital, renowned Neurosurgeon, and Santosh Kumar Nayk OAS officer, who attended as the Chief Guest. In his address, Dr. P.K Sahoo highlighted the severe health risks associated with tobacco consumption, particularly its impact on the brain and nervous system. He encouraged the youth to lead by example and help build a healthier, tobacco-free society.
The program featured a rally, awareness talks, and interactive sessions aligned with the global theme set by the World Health Organization (WHO). Organisers stressed the importance of community involvement in eradicating tobacco use.
The event concluded with a pledge ceremony where all participants vowed to support and promote a tobacco-free lifestyle.
