Guangzhou China: A highly esteemed Tao master recently visited our center in Guangzhou, China, to meet with our sisters. The exchange was deeply enriching. During our dialogue, he shared profound insights into the principles and philosophy of Taoism, while we presented perspectives on Raja Yoga and the practice of meditation. Strikingly, both philosophies revealed shared values—particularly their emphasis on harmony, mindfulness, and enlightenment through inner discipline.
The Tao master, now 88 years old, possesses a rare and captivating presence. At 16, he abandoned worldly life to pursue Taoist practices in the mountains under the guidance of his mentors. After over 60 years of seclusion, he emerged to share his wisdom with the world. Today, he divides his time between the tranquility of the mountains and brief visits to cities like Guangzhou, where he generously offers teachings rooted in his decades of practice and contemplation.
During his visit, as a gesture of respect, the sisters presented him with divine and godly gifts, symbolizing our admiration and gratitude for his wisdom. Later, he visited our meditation room, where he sat for nearly an hour, immersing himself in a deeply enriching meditation experience. His calm demeanor and the serenity he radiated left a lasting impression on everyone present.
His eagerness to visit Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University in India was particularly moving. As the conversation concluded, he expressed hope to explore connections between Taoist teachings and India’s spiritual traditions.
This encounter was undeniably transformative. The Tao master’s humility, his timeless wisdom, and his curiosity about interfaith dialogue left an indelible mark on our community. It was an honor to witness a living bridge between ancient traditions and contemporary spiritual seekers.
